Finn (JC Command Code) is a 9-year-old 16.2 OTTB gelding in a flashy chestnut wrapper. He’s looking for his forever partner and his ideal match would be at a flat home only as he is unable to jump. What he lacks in aerial talent and ability is well made up for with big movement and 3 balanced and adjustable gaits. His canter is lofty and a dream to ride with a near rocking-horse cadence. With a forward-thinking brain and the athleticism to support it, he boasts incredible endurance and a powerful hind end that has allowed him to learn and progress in a solid, consistent dressage training program led by a professional. He’s very responsive to a quiet, tactful seat and hands and understands the value of his rider's leg, seat, and core. While in training with a professional, he is ridden consistently by his AA owner.
Special attention has been paid to his hooves, conditioning, diet/nutrition, saddle fit, and musculoskeletal care, along with ground manners and under saddle training to ensure he is set up for success and longevity. Radiographic findings do reflect in his price, but they do not affect his ability to go comfortably in dressage, trails, or speed events. No maintenance besides all four shoes and routine chiropractic care to support him as an athlete are needed. Finn provides a great opportunity for someone to have a promising and eye-catching dressage horse on a budget. Finn is completely sound doing flatwork. As we introduced jumping, it became clear that his kissing spine made him uncomfortable. The only motivation for the sale is the owner’s preference for jumping, otherwise, he would not be listed. He has been well-loved and is extremely hard to let go of, but he has a human out there waiting to bring him up levels in the dressage ring or out on trails.
Finn has been off the property for horse camping, has been in the water, loves baths if he can drink from the hose, is quite easily bribed with treats (bananas specifically), clips, loads, ties, blankets, stands quietly, will follow you around once he knows his routine, and lives outside. He is great around other horses and dogs, easy to catch, no vices, is not bothered by extreme weather conditions, or by large farm equipment/ATVs/UTVs.
He has very recently been brought UTD on vaccinations, dental work, chiropractic care, and shoes.
